WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TEAM FINISHES COMPETITION AT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS

BETHLEHEM, PA. - The Colgate women's track and field team finished sixth at the Patriot League outdoor championships with 56 points scored. Bucknell picked up the title with 160 points.

Yaruby Brenes (Lincoln Park, N.J.) took second in the 100 in 12.37 and fourth in the 200 in 25.48.

Indoor Female Performer of the Meet Maura McCusker (Stoneham, Mass.) took second in the 800 with a time of 2:09.66.  Danielle Gabay (Mississagua, Ont.) took sixth in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:17.06.

Senior Jenny McCarthy (Rutland, Mass.) took third in the 1500 meter run with a Colgate record time of 4:35.59.

In the triple jump competition, Julie Stephenson (Hyannis, Mass.) took fourth with a jump of 36' 1 1/4" and Nolina Quince (Syracuse, N.Y.) took 13th in 34' 4 3/4".  Kesha Caldwell (White Oak, Pa.) took 10th in the high jump with a 4' 11".

In the 100 hurdles competition Julie Stephenson took fifth with a new Colgate record of 15.13, followed by Quince in a personal best time of 15.14.

Leann Teager (Holliston, Mass.) took fifth place in the 400 meter with her best time of 58.04  while Andrea Graham (Mississagua, Ont.) took 12th (59.02).

In relay competition, the 4x400 (Teager, Brenes, McCusker, Graham) team took fourth with a new school record time of 3:53.70 and the 4x100 (Teager, Brenes, McCusker, Graham) team placed fifth in 49.77, third best in school history.

In the 5000 meter run, Stephanie Davis (Old Tappan, N.J.) took 12th (19:10.69), Anna Shaver (Santa Rosa, Calif.) took 17th (19:54.80) and Laura Kenny (Horsham, Pa.) took 19th (21:21.64).
