RAIDERS COMPETE AT COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL
Feb. 10, 2002
New York, NY - Over the
weekend the Colgate Women's Track and Field Team competed in the
Collegiate Invitational at the NY Armory. The team competed in the
University division which was comprised of 19 teams. Overall the
Raiders scored 10 points and finished 14th.
Highlighting the meet for the team was Maura McCusker, who once again
dominated in the 800 meters. She ran a time of 2:08.63 which is a
new school record. Other records to fall came at the hands of
first-year Amy DeMarco and first-year Katy Romano who both broke freshman
records. DeMarco cruised in her 3,000 meter heat, running a time of
10:18.61, while Katy Romano set a new freshman record in the High Jump at
5'03''.
Another outstanding performance came from Senior Jenny McCarthy.
McCarthy ran a time of 2:16.70 in the 800 meters which was good enough to
place 4th overall.
Next week the Raiders will travel to Army where the Patriot League Indoor
Championships will be held.
