COLGATE HOSTS CLASS OF '32 INVITATIONAL Feb. 2, 2002 HAMILTON, NY - The Raider women's track and field team finished fourth out of the 11 teams competing in the Class of '32 Invitational held at Sanford Fieldhouse. Senior Yaruby Brenes finished first in the 200-meter in a time of 25.66, setting a new meet record. Maura McCusker shattered the meet record in the 500-meter with a time of 1:15.16, nearly three seconds ahead of her nearest competitor in the field. Sophomore Andria Graham and junior Leeann Teager also scored points for the team in the 500 meter finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Other highlights of the meet included senior Jennifer McCarthy's second place finish in the 800-meter and sophomore Stephanie Davis’ 5th place finish in the 3,000-meter. The rookie trio of Amy DeMarco, Beth Stephenson and Nolana Quince also put points on the board for the Raiders in the meet. DeMarco finished fourth in the 5,000-meter, Stephenson finished seventh in the 55-meter and Quince finished third in the high jump and seventh in the 55-meter hurdles. The team’s 4x400 medley relay team also finished a close second behind University of Buffalo. The Raiders travel next to compete in the Collegiate Invitational February 8th and 9th.
