Women’s Track
Finishes Fourth at Bucknell Quadrangular
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LEWISBURG, PA. – The Colgate women’s track and field team placed fourth at the Bucknell Quadrangular on Saturday, April 19 in Lewisburg, Pa. The Raiders, who traveled a skeleton team of 15 girls due to injuries, managed 43 points as Kent State won the meet with 246. The highlight of the day for Colgate came as two school records fell. Sarah Hildebrand (Fairport, N.Y.) broke the freshman record in the 1,500-meter run as she took third place with a time of 4:49.22. Sophomore Nolana Quince (Syracuse, N.Y.) later topped the school record in the triple jump by over a foot, taking second place with a jump of 37’ 7.25”. Seven individuals
scored points for the Raiders. Freshman Shannon O’Hagan placed fourth in
the high jump with a height of 5’ 3”. Senior co-captains Leeann Teager
(Holliston,
Mass./Holliston) and Danielle Gabey took
fifth in the 400- and 800-meter dashes, respectively. Teager finished with
a time of 58.95 while Gabay clocked a 2:16.95. Quince finished in fifth
place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.50 while sophomore Kaitlyn Wood
(Houghton, Mich.) finished fifth with a time of 1:07.64 in the 400
hurdles. Freshman Lisa Germain (Queensbury,
N.Y.) took sixth in the long jump
and freshman Emily Tansey (Scitvate, Mass.) finished the 1,500 in sixth
place with a time of 4:53.95. The Raiders are back
in action on Saturday, April 27 as they travel to Ithaca,
N.Y., to take part in the Cornell
Invitational.
