SPLETTER NAMED COLGATE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S
TENNIS ASSISTANT COACH

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Michael Spletter was appointed men's and women's tennis assistant coach at Colgate University replacing Marc Pearson who left to pursue a graduate degree.

Spletter comes to Colgate from Penn State University where he served as assistant coach for the women's tennis squad. He assisted in all activities including organizing and running daily practice, recruiting, and served as tournament director for two Fall tournaments.

With Spletter's tutelage, Penn State reached a season-high ranking of #42 in the nation and finished #8 in the region.

"Michael comes to Colgate with great enthusiasm," head coach Bob Dallis said. "He is a professional coach who will add great experience to the program."

Spletter's coaching background includes nine years as a club professional and four years of high school girls varsity coaching at Wausau West High School, where he guided Wausau to four state titles.

In addition to his coaching experience, he has managed and owned a full-line tennis pro shop and served as the interim manager of the Penn State Tennis Center.
