Women’s Tennis All-Patriot League Team Announced
Army’s Paul Peck Tabbed Coach of the Year

Bethlehem, Pa. –  The women’s 2000 All-Patriot League tennis team has been determined though a vote of the League’s head coaches.  Army, the 2000 Patriot League Champion, has earned four of the six singles selections and one of the four doubles honors.  The Cadets defeated Colgate, 5-3 in the finals of the Patriot League tournament to earn their third consecutive title.

Heading this year’s team is senior Lillian Lien (Albilene, TX) of Army.  Lien was a factor in leading the Lady Knights to the 2000 crown as she tallied wins in the semifinals and finals of the tournament.  She also teamed with Ann Collier (Baton Rouge, LA) to score a win in doubles in the finals vs. the Red Raiders.  Lien earned tournament MVP honors for her efforts.

This year’s team features a four-time All-League selection in Army senior Jennifer Blatty (Metairie, LA).  Blatty has been a mark of consistency throughout her career as she attains this rare achievement.  The fourth Army singles player to be selected was Cheryl Hamilton (Diamond Bar, CA).

Members of this year’s team to be honored as both a singles and doubles player were Kim Luff (Bethlehem, PA) of Lehigh, Jenny Buntman (Glencoe, IL) of Colgate, and Collier and Lien of Army.

Army head coach Paul Peck (5th season) was selected as the 2000 Coach of the Year through a vote of his peers.  Peck was also selected Coach of the Year in 1996 and ’99.
