FORMER COLGATE TENNIS PLAYERS
NAMED TO PATRIOT LEAGUE ALL-DECADE TEAM

Bethlehem, Pa. - In celebration
of the Patriot League’s 10th
anniversary, Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich today
announced the
League’s Women’s Tennis All-Decade Team.
The Colgate University
women's tennis team had four of the 10
student-athletes named to the
All-Decade squad. Kelly Breen ('90), Leslie Frank ('97),
Sam Kohn ('99) and Sue Monajati ('94).
Breen captured the Patriot League #1 singles championship in
1990.
Frank won the Patriot League Player of the Year award in 1995,
the Patriot League #1 singles flight in 1996 and #3 singles
flight in 1998. She also earned All-Patriot League in
singles for the 1994 and 1995 season, and 1996 in doubles.
Kohn won the Patriot League #2 singles flight and #1 doubles
with Frank in 1996 en route to capturing the Patriot League
Player of the Year honors. She captured the #1 singles
flight in 1997. Kohn added All-Patriot League honors in
1995 (singles), 1996 (singles and doubles), 1997 (singles) and
1999 (singles and doubles). Kohn also earned All-Patriot
League Scholar-Athlete in 1997 and 1999, which honors the top
student-athlete academically in women's tennis.
Monajati is the Red Raiders' record holder for singles wins in
a season with 27 in 1993. She was Patriot League #2
singles flight champion in 1991, in 1992 she teamed with
Shannon Flanagan to win the #1 doubles championship and in
1993 she paired up with Alison DeSano to win the #2 double
flight. Monajati was also All-Patriot League in 1993 and
1994.

Team selection for each of the 20 Patriot League sports was
conducted by a
committee consisting of head coaches, institutional sports

liaisons and administrative liaisons. Athletes named to the
All-Anniversary Team will be honored at a time designated by
each recipient’s institution
and be given their award at that
time.
