Assistant Coach HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Colgate Athletic Department has named Bryan Whitt to the position of men’s and women’s assistant tennis coach. “I am extremely pleased that Bryan has agreed to become the assistant tennis coach at Colgate,” said head coach Marty Perry. “One criteria I used when making the decision was to choose someone who desired to be a head coach and Bryan has tremendous focus on reaching that goal. He has an outgoing personality, is a hard worker and is someone who will commit to taking both the men’s and women’s programs to the next level.” Whitt comes to Hamilton from the University of Texas at Tyler where he served as an assistant for the past year. His duties with the Patriots included on-court coaching, developing a training program, overseeing team practices, supervising travel and insuring that all NCAA and departmental guidelines were met. Prior to his time in Texas, Whitt served as the men’s assistant tennis coach and an adjunct faculty member in the Kinesiology Department at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in political science from the University of Texas at Tyler in May of 2002. In February 2001, he achieved an ATP world ranking in doubles by advancing to the semifinals of a Futures professional tennis tournament.
