COLGATE RECORDS A STRONG VICTORY IN FIRST MATCH SINCE FLORIDA TRIP
LEWISBURG, PA – The Colgate women recorded a 5-2 victory over the Bucknell Bison on Saturday, showing that they have put their 1-3 trip to Florida behind them. Marissa Alikpala started things off for the Raiders, winning her No.1 singles match with Nada Curcic 6-4, 6-3. Tash Eno also prevailed in her singles match, beating Jill Wurzburg 6-3, 7-5 in their No.3 match. In No.4 singles, Jamie Maldow defeated Tanya Sichko 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, while Jessica Fede was declared the victor by virtue of leading Rheanna Gaskin 6-2, 3-2 when she was forced to retire. Sheila Rao also won, crushing Sam Berthod 6-0, 6-0 in No.6 singles. The No.3 doubles pairing of Lindsey Suffredini and Eno also helped the Raiders' cause, downing Berthod and Wurzburg 8-4. The Colgate women will now travel to take on Lehigh on Sunday, April 6th. The matches are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. Bucknell vs. Colgate Match Results
