COLGATE BEATS QUINNIPIAC
4-3, COMPLETES WEEKEND SWEEP HAMILTON, NY – The Colgate women's tennis team completed a two-win weekend by beating Quinnipiac on Sunday. The Raiders won four of six singles matches and one doubles match in the winning effort. Marissa Alikpala led the way for Colgate, beating Kim Piazza in No.1 singles. Piazza was forced to retire in the second set. Alikpala also won her No.2 doubles match, teaming with Emily Wenink to defeat Piazza and Liz Axlee 8-5. No. 2 singles player Lauren Erikson also won, defeating Danielle Rautenberg 6-3, 6-3. Jamie Maldow persevered in No.4 singles, winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-5, ret., as did Sheila Rao, and easy 6-3, 6-0 winner over Heather Rahm. The Raiders improved their record to 4-2 on the season. The Raiders will next travel to Dartmouth on Saturday, March 1st. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
