Women's Tennis Downs Palm Beach Atlantic
7-2 March 22, 2002 WEST PALM BEACH, FLA - Freshmen Marissa Alikpala and Jaime Maldow each picked up their 14th singles win of the season and sophomore Jess Fede cruised to her team-high 17th victory to lead the Raiders past Palm Beach Atlantic College 7-2 in women's tennis action Thursday in West Palm Beach, Florida. Alikpala defeated Palm Beach's Manare Akkar 6-3, 7-6 in the no. one singles spot while Maldow downed Elisha Mabe 6-4, 6-4 at the no. four singles and Fede easily handled Jemma Sponholtz 6-2, 6-0 in the fifth singles spot. With the win, Colgate improves to 9-6 on the season and will return to action Saturday, April 6 against Quinnipiac.
