American Ends Raider's Win Streak March 2, 2002 Washington, DC. - Less than a week after earning its first Patriot League victory, the Raiders were downed by league powerhouse American 5-2. The loss halts Colgate's winning streak at four matches and puts them at 7-4 overall (1-1 PL). Despite the loss, the strong doubles tandem of Emily Wenink and Lindsey Suffredini fought hard to narrowly edge the Eagles Lauren Martin and Kristina Georgieva. The Raiders were defeated in both the number two and three doubles matches. In singles action, freshman Jamie Maldow gave a solid performance at number 4, stretching her opponent, before falling 6-4 6-4. Jessica Fede and Lindsey Sine both earned their victories at number 5 and 6 respectively by defaults due to injury. The default improves Fede's amazing singles record to 15-4 on the season. Colgate continues its season March 9 at St. Bonaventure at 2:00pm. SINGLES
