Colgate Corrals Bison February 23, 2002 HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Raiders earn their first Patriot League victory of the season by downing a solid Bucknell team 5-2. With the win, the team extended its winning streak to four matches while moving to 7-3 on the spring. Colgate continues to be led in doubles play by its captain, Lauren Erikson, along with sophomore transfer Lindsey Sine. The pair improves to 9-0 together by squeezing by JIll Wurzberg and Laura Maisel 9-7. Sine has not lost a doubles match since January 26th while Erikson is undefeated on the spring. Meanwhile, the freshman tandem of Jamie Maldow and Marissa Alikpala defeated Kristin Inglis and Tanya Sichko 8-3. At the number one spot, Emily Wenink and Lindsey Suffredini evened their mark to 8-8 on the year by winning 8-4. In singles competition, Jessica Fede emerged victorious in number five singles despite the fierce rallying of Tanya Sichko. Fede improves to an excellent 14-4 in singles on the season and continues to be a bright spot in the team's roster. Similarly, freshman Marissa Alikpala improved her record to 12-4 on the year by trouncing the Bison's Nada Curlil. Alikpala is 7-2 on the spring at the number one singles slot. Colgate continues its season March 2 at American University at 10:00am. SINGLES Colgate (7-3)
