Ithaca, NY. -In their spring season opener, the women's tennis team fell to Ivy League stalwart Cornell 7-0 at the Reis Tennis Center.  The tough competition should strengthen the team's mettle as they prepare for their Patriot League matches later this spring.  

The team, who finished second in the Patriot League last season behind Army, hopes to improve upon last year's performance.  With the addition of freshman standouts Marissa Alikpala and Jamie Maldow, their goals certainly seem attainable.  

Like the solid Cornell squad, the Raiders figure to encounter another difficult challenge when they play host to long-time rival Syracuse on Wednesday, January 30th at 5:00pm.
