RED RAIDERS REBOUND FROM FIRST ECAC LOSS
WITH 2-1 VICTORY AT VERMONT

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Sophomore Annie Stover scored two power-play goals in the third period to lift visiting Colgate past Vermont, 2-1, in an ECAC Women's Division III contest. The loss snapped an 11-game unbeaten streak by the Catamounts, who fall to 10-2-4 in the conference and 12-7-4 overall. Colgate improves to 14-1-0 in the ECAC and 17-3-0 overall with the victory.

Vermont struck first to jump out to an early 1-0 lead. Aimee LaBarre picked up the puck off a Colgate turnover in their own end and passed it to teammate Lori Hennessey who one-timed it past Colgate keeper Jen Burtraw at 9:09 of the first period.

Colgate came alive in the third period after a scoreless second period. Stover netted her first tally of the game with just four seconds remaining in a power-play opportunity. She defelected in Charlotte Davet's initial shot from the left wing to slip the puck past UVM keeper Tiffany Hayes.

Vermont's best opportunity came in the next series down the ice as Betsy Ammel's slap shot trickled past Burtraw, but did not cross the goal line. Stover netted the game-winner when she tipped in a slap shot from Heather Murphy at the 13:33 mark of the third period.

Both Hayes and Burtraw made 23 saves in the contest. Colgate went2-fot-7 on the power play, while Vermont was 0-for-3.
