THIRD-STRAIGHT SHUTOUT WITH 3-0 BLANKING AGAINST
WESLEYAN
HAMILTON, N.Y..-- Lauren
Pufahl scored two goals including the game-winner
to lead the Colgate women's ice hockey team to
its third-straight shutout victory with a 3-0
blanking of Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first period, Pufahl gave
Colgate a 1-0 lead with her first marker of the
game at 5:40 of the second period off feeds from
Kelly Roos and Stephanie Sand. Red Raider leading
scorer Heather Murphy scored her 21st goal of the
season to extend the lead to 2-0 at the 10:19
mark of the second off a pass from Roos. Pufahl
closed out the scoring with her second goal of
the game just 20 seconds later with helpers from
Casey Schofield and Sand.
Jen Burtraw stopped all nine shots on goal she
faced to record her seventh shutout of th year
and sixth in ECAC DIII play. The shutout lowered
her goal against average to 1.02 and just 0.47 in
ECAC DIII.
