RAIDERS SEASON ENDED WITH 8-0 LOSS AT DARTMOUTH
Contact: Mike Zimmerman HANOVER, N.H.- The Colgate women’s hockey team saw its season come to a close on Saturday night with a 8-0 loss at Dartmouth in game two of the first round series of ECAC playoffs. Colgate finishes the season 12-21-1 and seventh place in the league. Dartmouth scored two goals in the first period on shots from Kate Weatherston and Cherie Piper, to open up a 2-0 lead at the end of one period. The Big Green came out and put away Colgate in the second period with five goals. Weatherston scored twice to complete the hat trick. Piper tallied her second goal of the game at 1:13 of the second period. Gillian Apps and Cheryl Muranko also scored for Dartmouth making the score 7-0 at the end of two. Krista Dornfried added a goal in the third to set the final at 8-0, ending the Raiders season. Both teams were unsuccessful on all power play attempts, with Colgate failing to capitalize on seven advantages, while the Big Green were shut-out on five attempts. Rebecca Lahar finished an outstanding sophomore season with a 35 save performance, giving her 1083 for the season.
