COLGATE FALLS 4-0 TO FIFTH PLACE BROWN
Contact: Mike Zimmerman HAMILTON, N.Y.- The Colgate women’s hockey team fell to fifth place Brown on Friday night 4-0 thanks to a three goal second period for the Bears. The two teams played to a scoreless first period with Colgate's Rebecca Lahar making 13 stops between the pipes for the Raiders. Brown stormed out to a 3-0 advantage in the second period with three goals in six and a half minutes. Jessica Link scored her 16th of the season at 4:10 of the second, followed just a minute later by Karen Thatcher to put the Bears up 2-0. Link's second goal of the period on the power play gave Brown a 3-0 advantage at the end of two periods. Brown added an insurance goal in the third on a power play score by Keaton Zucker at 8:33 of the final period to set the final at 4-0. Rebecca Lahar turned aside 44 shots as the Raiders were outshot 48-14 for the contest. Brown went 2-4 on the power play, while Colgate finished 0-1. Brown is now 11-12-4 and 8-6-1 in the ECAC good for fifth place. Colgate is 12-18-1 and 4-10-1 in the ECAC, and will wrap up regular season play Saturday at home against Harvard.
