COLGATE BOUNCES BACK WITH A 2-1 WIN OVER ECAC FOE YALE

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Colgate women's hockey team earned its first ECAC win of the season Saturday night as they defeated Yale 2-1.

The Bulldogs took the early lead when Nicole Symington scored at 6:42 off a pass from Kaitlin Porcaro giving Yale a 1-0 lead.

Colgate bounced back with a goal from Caitlin Hornyak at 15:07 from Maura Kehoe and Allison Paiano.

The Raiders got the game-winner just 2:01 later when Avery McGlenn scored her league-leading fifth goal of the season.  Paiano and Kristin Cirbus were credited with the assists.

Rebecca Lahar made 24 saves between the pipes to preserve to 2-1 win for Colgate.  The Raiders went 0-3 on the power play, while the Bulldogs were 1-6.

Colgate now 4-4 on the season and 1-1 in the ECAC returns home to play Dartmouth, Friday at 7 p.m.
