- The Colgate women's hockey team opened its ECAC season with a 4-1 loss
at Princeton, Friday night. Andrea Kilbourne's hat trick was the
difference for Princeton.
The
Tigers jumped out to the 1-0 lead at 6:32 of the first period when Heather
Jackson found the net off passes from Lisa Rasmussen and Katherine Maglio.
Colgate bounced right back as Amanda Barre scored her third goal of
the season with just 1:07 to play in the first period. Becky Irvine
and Micki King were credited with the assists.
Kilbourne then took over the game for Princeton scoring the final three
goals. She scored at 18:42 of the second period, then picked up two
short-handed goals at 10:31 of the second period and 17:22 of the third
period, setting the final at 4-1.
Princeton moves to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the ECAC. Colgate
drops to 3-4 and 0-1 in conference play.
The
Tigers outshot Colgate 28-22. Colgate went 1-3 on the power play and
killed all three power play chances the Tigers had.
Rebecca Lahar made 24 saves in net, but dropped her record to 1-4 this
season.
Colgate is back in action tomorrow night when it travels to Yale for a 4
p.m. face-off.
