HAMILTON, NY
- The Colgate women's hockey team dismantled Vermont Saturday night, 5-0 in front of its home crowd in Starr Rink.

The Raiders got started early in the contest when freshman forward Allison Paiano netted her fourth goal of the season.  Toby Mandel sent a shot on net and Paiano deflected it past goaltender Tiffany Hayes, giving Colgate a 1-0 advantage at 1:13.

Maura Kehoe put the Raiders up 2-0 at 16:30 with her fourth goal of the season.  The goal was set up nicely on cross-ice passes by Avery McGlenn and Carly McNaughton.

Colgate continued to pour it on in the second period tallying two more scores.  At 9:23, Amanda Barre netted her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Chelsey Rhodes giving the Raiders a 3-0 advantage.

Paiano tallied her second goal of the night and fifth of the season at 15:07, Rhodes was credited with her second assist of the contest.

Colgate tacked on one more score in the third period at 6:23 when Rhodes found the back of the net off a face-off win by Paiano.  That set the final at 5-0.

Rebecca Lahar recorded her first shut-out of the season and made 14 saves.

Colgate outshot Vermont 46-14, and was successful on two of its four power plays, while killing all four of Vermont's chances.

Lahar was the number three star, Rhodes number two, and Paiano earned the number one star.

Colgate improves its record to 5-5 on the season and 2-2 in the ECAC, equaling its number of conference wins in 2001-02.

Colgate is next in action Friday night at 7 p.m. at Harvard.
