 Colgate Women’s Hockey Announces 2002 Schedule

HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate Athletic Department has announced the women's ice hockey schedule for the upcoming season. The Raiders and first-year head coach Scott Wiley will face a challenging schedule, which features an equal number of home and away opponents, hosting and traveling to 17 contests.

Gate opens the season with four away games. Friday, Oct. 18  and Saturday Oct. 19 the Raiders have back-to-back games at Wayne State followed by games at Findley on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.

The first home games will be Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 when Colgate faces Sacred Heart and Rensselaer, respectively.

The conference schedule kicks off with a six game stretch the following weekend as the Raiders take to the road to face Princeton and Yale. The ECAC-North contests continue with home games versus Dartmouth on Nov. 15 and Vermont on Nov. 16 and away games at Harvard and Brown on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23, respectively.

Colgate returns home on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 for a two game series with Quinnipiac before playing its final game prior to the winter break at Union on Saturday, Dec. 14. 

The Raiders begin the month of January on the road with a trip to Utica on Jan. 3 and two games at Maine on Jan. 6 and Jan. 7.

A four game home stretch follows the road trip with two games versus Mercyhurst on Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 and two games versus Findlay the following weekend.

The ECAC league schedule takes over from there as the Raiders play 10 conference games to close out the season. Colgate is at home for the first four games of February as they face St. Lawrence on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, Yale on Feb. 8 and Princeton on Feb. 9.

Next, the Raiders take to the road for contests at Vermont on Feb.15, Dartmouth on Feb. 16 and Cornell on Feb. 20.

The season ends with three home games as Colgate faces Cornell on Feb. 22, Brown on Feb. 28 and Harvard on March 1.

All home contests are played at Starr Rink on the Colgate campus.
