With just 24 seconds left in the middle period, Findlay freshman Jenn Jessop (Aurora, Ont.) broke up the scoreless tie when she scored on a feed from senior Monell Schroeder (Redmond, Wash.) and junior Melissa Oliver (Hickson, Ont.). The Oilers widened their lead at 7:17 of the third when sophomore Stasia Bakhit (Omaha, Neb.) scored on the power play with freshman Janet Ploncinsky (Bloomington, Minn.) and sophomore Abbey Strong (Chassell, Mich.) getting credit for the assists. The Raiders got on the board with 7:10 left in the game when senior Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass.) scored on a pass from junior Nicole Lehrhoff (Morristown, N.J.), but it was too little, too late to keep Findlay from taking the win. Colgate freshman goalie Rebecca Lahar (Vienna, Va.) made 27 saves in her second-straight loss, while Findlay junior netminder Erin Blair (Lisle, Ill.) stopped 22 Raider shots for the win. Colgate will get another chance at Findlay on Saturday, when they return to Clauss Ice Arena for a rematch at 4 p.m.
