Northford, Conn. – Freshman Chelsey Rhodes (Champion, Alberta) netted her first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner, as Colgate skated to a 4-0 shutout of Quinnipiac on Saturday, October 27, to even its record to 2-2-0 on the season.

Junior goalkeeper Jen Burtraw (Brantford, Conn.) earned her 11th career shutout after stopping 16 shots in the game.

Rhodes' goal came at 5:08 of the second, with senior co-captain Annie Stover (Peapack, N.J.) and sophomore Kara Lisavich (Salem, N.H.) taking credit for the assists.

Sophomore Katie Koch (Exeter, N.H.) scored just 34 seconds later, when she buried a pass from Caitlin Hornyak (Middletown, Conn.) and Jen Fallon (Bayonne, N.J.).

With 3:35 to play in the middle frame, senior assistant captain Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass.) played the puck to rookie Maura Kehoe (Chelseam, Que.) for her second goal of the series.

Lisavich added the empty-netter at 18:54 of the third period, after the Braves' Victoria Castellon (Katonah, N.Y.) had been pulled for the extra skater.  Castellon had made 17 saves in relief of Quinnipiac junior Mel Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I.) who had 23 saves through 36:25.

Colgate returns to Starr Rink next weekend for its first ECAC North series as the Raiders face Harvard and Brown on Saturday and Sunday, with both games beginning at 2:00 p.m.  The Braves will get their first taste of ECAC East play, when they travel to No. 6 New Hampshire for a pair of games Friday and Saturday nights.
