HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate head coach Ted Wisner announced today that senior left wing Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass.) will serve as the assistant captain on the 2001-02 women's hockey team.  

Crowell, who trails Heather Murphy (St. Paul, Minn.) as the second-top career scorer among active players, has 27 goals and 30 assists for 57 points in 72 career games played.  She will assist fellow seniors Annie Stover (Peapack, N.J.) and Kelly Roos (Milford, Conn.), who are this year's co-captains.

The Raiders open their season on Saturday, October 20 against Maine at 2:00 p.m. at Starr Rink.
