CENTERVILLE, Mass. – In the preseason coaches poll of the newly-formed ECAC Women's Hockey League-North, the Colgate women's ice hockey team was slated to finish eighth in the nine-team pool.

The Raiders, who will be competing at the Division I level for the first time this season, join seven veteran D-I teams as well as former Division III opponent Vermont in the new league.

With six first-place votes, Dartmouth was the preseason favorite, while 2000-01 national runner-up St. Lawrence received three first-place votes and second place in the poll.
