Jentner got Cornell on the board with a power play tally at 14:24 of the first period off a set up by rookie Pearle Nerenberg (Lachute, Que.) and senior Erinn Perushek (Maple Grove, Minn.). The Big Red's second goal, also on the power play, came when senior Jenel Bode (Yorkton, Sask.) passed the puck to Perushek who buried a point-blank shot at 13:19 of the second period. Colgate
scored their only goal of the game at 17:14 on the power play when
freshman leading scorer Cheryl Setchell
(Sydney, N.S.) took a pass from senior Heather
Murphy (St. Paul, Minn.) on the left side and put it top shelf on
Cornell goaltender Liz Connelly (Kanata, Ont.). Jentner earned the Big Red's third goal at 4:45 of the third period, from sophomore Anita Khar (Stamford, Conn.) and Nerenberg. After Jentner avoided the Colgate defender, she found herself face-to-face with Raider netminder Rebecca Lahar (Vienna, Va.), and she backhanded it into the bottom of the net for the only even-strength tally of the game. Cornell's third power-play goal was scored at 7:03 by junior Lindsay Murao (Richmond, B.C.) from senior Sarah Olivier (Gloucester, Ont.) and freshman Jamie Ramenofsky (Pelham, N.Y.) to put the Raiders away. Colgate edged the Big Red in shots, 24-23 on the night, as Cornell ruined the Raiders' league-second penalty kill by going three-for-four on the night. Colgate's PK efficiency dropped from 89.7% to 87.6% and fourth place on the night. Connelly earned her fifth win of the season by making 23 saves, while Lahar dropped her third straight decision after stopping 19 shots. The Raiders, who drop to 11-17-2 overall and 2-11-2 in the ECAC-North, will travel to Lynah Rink for a rematch with Cornell, who improved to 8-16-1 overall, 6-8-1 in the league, on Saturday at 7 p.m.
