PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomores Susan Hobson (Mississauga, Ont.) and Gretchen Anderson (Natick, Mass.) led Princeton with two goals each as the Tigers downed visiting Colgate 6-1 at Hobey Baker Rink on Saturday.

Hobson zigzagged around the Colgate defense to put Princeton up at 7:12 of the first period, with rookie Brianna Bennett (Warwick, R.I.) and senior Aviva Grumet-Morris (Evanston, Ill.) getting the assists.

The Raiders fought back to tie the game with seven seconds left in the period.  Freshman Amanda Barre (Grafton, Ont.) took the puck from classmates Jen Fallon (Bayonne, N.J.) and Chelsey Rhodes (Champion, Alb.), and stuffed it by Tigers goalie Sarah Ahlquist (South St. Paul, Minn.) for her fourth goal of the weekend.

Princeton regained control of the game, as sophomore Angela Gooldy (New Hartford, N.Y.) skated in alone on Raider goaltender Lindsay Bourne (Redlands, Calif.) for an unassisted tally and the lead at 8:05 of the second period.

The Tigers widened their advantage at 11:28, when sophomore Lisa Rasmussen (Washington, D.C.) and rookie Eliza Golden (New Canaan, Conn.) set up senior Melissa Deland (Washington, D.C.) for a shot which trickled into the goal behind Bourne.

In the final period, Princeton sealed the victory with three goals within four minutes.  At 12:35, Hobson scored her second of the game with a clear shot to the left side of Bourne.  Grumet-Morris added her fourth goal of the season at 15:27, with senior Wanda Mason (Lewiston, Maine) and Rasmussen getting credited with the helpers, and Anderson netted the final goal of a decisive Tiger victory at 16:15.

With Princeton outshooting the Raiders 33-12 on the afternoon, Ahlquist made just 11 saves for the win, while Bourne stopped 27 in the loss.

The Tigers travel to Maine for a pair of games next Friday and Saturday, February 15th and 16th.  Colgate hosts league opponents Vermont and Dartmouth next weekend at Starr Rink.
