RAIDERS COMPLETE THE WEEKEND SWEEP WITH 7-0
WIN OVER UTICA January 20, 2002 Contact: Michele Kelley Office: (315) 228-7602 Fax: (315) 228-7977 Email: mlkelley@mail.colgate.edu HAMILTON, N.Y. - Freshman defender Shelby Nelson (Osterville, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal along with two assists as the Colgate women's hockey team skated to their fourth-straight win, a 7-0 shutout of Utica College. Sophomore Abbie Webb (Victor, N.Y.) netted her second goal of the weekend, and junior Toby Mandel (Sudbury, Mass.) picked up her first goal of the season along with an assist. Senior Heather Murphy (St. Paul, Minn.), sophomores Katie Breen (North Andover, Mass.) and Caitlin Hornyak (Middletown, Conn.), and rookie Chelsey Rhodes (Champion, Alb.) added a goal and a helper each, and freshman Maura Kehoe (Chelsea, Que.) chipped in two assists. Rookie netminder Rebecca Lahar (Vienna, Va.) made 12 saves for her second-straight, and the team's fourth-straight, shutout victory. Utica's Krystal Champagne (Pittsfield, Pa.) made 56 saves on 63 shots on goal, as the Raiders posted 98 total shots in the game. Colgate
will enjoy a nine-day rest as the students begin the spring semester
before taking on local rival Hamilton on Tuesday, January 29 for a 7 p.m.
