HAMILTON, N.Y. - After a two-game conference series at home, the Colgate University women's ice hockey team comes away with a loss and a tie this weekend.  On Saturday, the Red Raiders fell to Vermont, 2-0, and today they played their first overtime of the season and came up with a tie against Rensselaer.

Junior Andrea Poley (Monument Beach, Mass.) tallied a hat-trick for the Engineers, with sophomore Christin Sauca (Wakefield, Mass.) adding the fourth goal.  Two of Poley's goals were on the power-play, as Rensselaer went 2-for-6 with the man advantage.

For Colgate, sophomore Maura Crowell (Mansfield, Mass.) started the scoring at 6:48 of the second with the Red Raiders' only power play goal of the game.  Crowell's marker tied the game at 1-1 after Colgate had ended the first period with a one-goal deficit.

Junior Heather Murphy (St. Paul, Minn.) scored her 13th goal of the year with 33 seconds left in the second gave the Red Raiders a one goal advantage, but Rensselaer's Poley tied it again at 8:22 of the third period.

The final four goals of the game were scored within five minutes of each other.  Colgate rookie Katie Koch (Exeter, N.H.) took the Red Raiders to a 3-2 lead at 12:20.  Poley completed her hat-trick two minutes later, and Sauca put the Engineers ahead by one 33 seconds later.  Murphy fed Koch the game-tying goal at 17:09, permanently knotting the game at 4-4.

The Red Raiders now take to the road for a four-game ECAC series, but they will be back at Starr Rink on February 3-4 for a weekend series against Colby and Bowdoin.
