Hamilton, N.Y. - The 2000-01 JOFA/AHCA Women's College Division Ice Hockey All-Americans were announced today by the American Hockey Coaches Association, and Colgate junior Heather Murphy was among those honored for the third time in her career.

Murphy led the Red Raiders in scoring this year for the third season in a row (21-29-50, 1.92 ppg, 0.81 gpg).  She finished the year as the third top scorer and second top assist getter in the ECAC.  Murphy also finished tied for fourth place in the conference for power-play points (4-6-10), and game-winning goals (4).

This is Murphy's third all-America honor of her career.  She earned second team recognition after her rookie season, making her the first Red Raider to earn all-America status in women's ice hockey.  The 1999 ECAC Rookie of the Year, Murphy took first team all-America status in her second year.  This season, Murphy was named to the all-ECAC first team for the second straight year, and was also a finalist for AHCA Women's Ice Hockey College Division Player of the Year.
