Middlebury, Vt. - Colgate netminder Jen Burtraw (Guilford, Conn.) made 31 saves in a losing effort as the Red Raiders fell to top-seed Middlebury, 3-1 in the semifinal round of the ECAC Women's Division III playoffs.

Colgate jumped on the board first as Katie Koch (Exeter, N.H.) skated in from center ice before wristing a shot to the top left corner of the net.  Freshman Avery McGlenn (Coaldale, Alb.) and all-rookie team selection Caitlin Hornyak (Middletown, Conn.) were credited with assists on the goal.

Just 52 seconds later, Middlebury answered as ECAC Player of the Year Michelle Labbe took a feed from Angela Kapus before scoring from just outside the slot.

Labbe notched her second goal of the game at 12:47 of the second period when she took a pass from behind the net from Erin Neil before scoring from between the circles to give the Panthers a 2-1 edge.

Neil gave the Panthers a 3-1 lead as she picked up a loose puck and scored from between the rings 5:16 into the third period.

Middlebury outshot the Red Raiders 34-13 in the victory.  Panthers goaltender Megan Hutchinson made 12 saves for the win.
