COLGATE CREW RESULTS FROM HEAD OF THE
SCHUYLKILL Oct. 28, 2002 PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--The Colgate University men's and women's Varsity 8 boats competed at the Head of the Schuylkill Saturday. The women's Varsity 8 placed 13th out of 23 teams in the Championship Eight Division with a time of 15:20.00. Syracuse won the event with a time of 14:28.43 while Lehigh placed second with a time of 14:32.61. West Virginia was third at 14:39.03 while UMass Amherst finished fourth at 14:49.36. Boston Seniors were fifth at 14:49.85, Community Rowing Inc. sixth at 14:58.75, Georgetown seventh at 15:00.61, U.S. Naval Academy eighth at 15"06.65, Washington College ninth at 15:07.86 and St. Joseph's 10th at 15:11.43. The College of the Holy Cross was just ahead of Colgate with a time of 15:19.29 for 11th place. On the men's side, Colgate finished 15th out of 22 teams in the Championship Eight Division with a time of 13:39.11. UTS Rowing Club won the event with a time of 12:37.76. The U.S. Naval Academy took second with a time of 12:41.05 while the University of Pennsylvania came in third at 12:48.68. Temple placed fourth at 12:55.55, George Washington took fifth (13:07.36) St. Joseph's sixth (13:08.95), U.S. Naval Academy seventh (13:15.70) Hobart & William Smith eighth (13:15.87) Marist ninth (13:19.50) and UMass Amherst 10th at 13:29.11. |
