COLGATE CREW RESULTS FROM HEAD OF THE
CHARLES Oct. 21, 2002 BOSTON--The Colgate University men's and women's Varsity 8 boats competed at the Head of the Charles Sunday. The women's Varsity 8 placed 44th out of 46 teams in the Championship Eight Division at the Head of the Charles Sunday with a time of 19:28.644. The US Rowing Team won the event with a time of 16:12.903 while The London Training Center placed second with a time of 16:16.907. Yale was third at 16:34.458 while Princeton finished fourth at 16:44.120. Stanford was fifth at 16:53.116, Northeastern sixth at 16:55.930, Cal-Berkeley seventh at17:00.453, Michigan eighth at 17:00.488, Radcliffe Crew ninth at 17:01.796 and Virginia at 17:03.905. On the men's side, Colgate finished 10th out of 41 teams with a time of 15:57.559. Hobart won the event with a time of 15:18.541. Minnesota took second with a time of 15:23.574 while St. Joseph's came in third at 15:33.50. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy placed fourth at 15:43.509, Trinity took fifth (15:52.603) Orange Coast College sixth (15:53.00), Colby College seventh (15:53.494) Weslyan University eighth (15:54.474) and the Rochester Institute of Technology ninth (15:54.498). The Raiders are back in action at the Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass. on Sunday, October 20. |
