COLGATE CREW RESULTS FROM THE PATRIOT CHALLENGE

WORCESTER, Mass. --The Colgate University men's and women's crew teams competed against Holy Cross, Army, Lehigh, Lafayette and Bucknell Sunday at the Patriot Challenge.

On the women's side, Holy Cross won the women's Varsity 8 with a time of 6:42.29. Army took second with a time of 6:42.88 and Lehigh was fourth with a time of 6:47.98. The Raiders finished fourth with a time of 6:59.13 and Bucknell came in fifth with a time of 7:02.21.

In the women's Second Varsity 8 race, Colgate had a winning time of 7:08.96 while Holy Cross 'B' finished second with a time of 7:14.8. Lehigh came in third at 7:18.34 and Army was fourth at 7:28.13.

In the women's Novice 8, the Raiders claimed their second gold medal of the day with a winning time of 7:11.16. Bucknell was second with a time of 7:12.93 while Holy Cross took third with a time of 7:21.7 and Army finished fourth with a time of 7:26.24. Lafayette and Lehigh rounded out the field with times of 7:35.72 and 7:36.28 for fifth and sixth place respectively.

The Raiders also won the women's Varsity 4 with Cox with a time of 7:44.02. Bucknell was second with a time of 7:53.97 and Lafayette placed third with a time of 8:11.38. Holy Cross and Army rounded out the field with times of 8:17.39 and 8:26.75 respectively for fourth and fifth place.

In the women's Novice 4 with Cox, Lafayette won the race with a time of 8:06.35. Colgate took second with a time of 8:12.56 and Bucknell was third with a time of 8:24.09. Lehigh took fourth with a time 9:03.41, Army fifth with a time of 9:29.59 and Holy Cross sixth with a time of 9:49.17.
 
The men's Varsity 8 placed second to Holy Cross with a time of 6:02.21. The Crusaders had a winning time of 5:59.7. Army took third with a time of 6:06.58 and Lehigh was fourth with a time of 6:10.25. Lafayette finished fifth with a time of 6:31.38.

In the men's Novice 8, Army edged the Raiders with a winning time of 6:19.14. Colgate took second with a time of 6:21.08. Holy Cross was third with a time of 6:24.46, Bucknell finished fourth with a time of 6:25.48. Lehigh took fifth at 6:25.82 and Lafayette was sixth at 6:40.78.

Colgate returns to action on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 at the New York State Championships at Whitney Point, N.Y.
