ITHACA, N.Y. --The Colgate University men's and women's crew teams competed at the Cayuga Inlet in Ithaca, N.Y. against Ithaca College and University of Rochester Saturday.

The Men's Varsity 8 and Novice 8 both finished in second place with a time of 6:37.4 and 7:07.9, respectively. Ithaca's men finished in first in both races, with times of 6:37.7 and 7:04.2. Ithaca ran a second boat in the Novice 8 race, which finished third with a time of 7:08.8. Rochester's Varsity 8 boat finished third with a time of 7:00.7.

The women's Varsity 8 boats and Novice 8 boats finished second to Ithaca. In the first race, Ithaca had a time of 7:48.8, while Colgate finished at 8:03.6. In the second Varsity 8 race, Ithaca finished at 7:58.8 and Colgate's women finished at 8:25. Ithaca finished at 8:01.1 in the Novice 8 race, while the Raiders came in at 8:10.1. In the Women's Novice 4 race, Colgate placed second with a time of 10:02. Rochester finished first with a time of 7:00.7, while Ithaca finished with a time of 10:10.

There was a strong headwind that got stronger as the racing progressed.

Colgate returns to action on Sunday, April 13th when it hosts Drexel and Hamilton on Lake Moraine.
