ASSISTANT COACH DEBBY GHEZZI
Debby Ghezzi is in her second season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Colgate. She joined the Raiders with head coach Kristin Hughes, who she has worked with at Cast Western Reserve University for four years. In addition to her duties as an assistant coach at Case Western, Ghezzi also served as the director of facilities at Case for one year. During her year in the position, she was instrumental in developing plans to construct a new football and soccer stadium for the Spartans. Between 2000 and 2003, Ghezzi also worked as the athletic director at Beaumont High School in Cleveland. Ghezzi spent the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons on Case's bench before becoming the director of athletic facilities and intramurals at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. After a year in that position, Ghezzi returned to Case. She was the athletic director and fitness center director, as well as the head coach of the women's basketball and volleyball teams, at Notre Dame College in Cleveland from 1988-98. Prior to her arrival in Cleveland, she was the head women's tennis coach and a physical education instructor at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, from 1980-88. Ghezzi received her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Ohio University in 1975 and her master’s degree in education with a concentration in athletic administration in 1976.
