Women’s Basketball Heads to Iowa State for Cyclone Classic
Raiders make first trip to the Hawkeye State

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Colgate University women’s basketball team will travel to Ames, Iowa this weekend to participate in Iowa State’s Cyclone Classic. Other participants will be Centenary College and High Point University.

The tournament begins on Friday, Dec. 13, with the host Cyclones facing High Point at 6 p.m., and the Raiders taking on Centenary at 8:30 p.m. The Classic continues on Saturday, Dec. 14 with the consolation game being played at 6 p.m., and the championship game taking place at 8:30 p.m.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our team,” said head coach Beth Spycher Combs. “Iowa State has a great women’s basketball program that receives a lot of support so it will be wonderful for our players to experience that.”

This trip will mark the first time in Colgate women's basketball history that the Raiders will travel to the Hawkeye State or play a team from Iowa. It will also be a homecoming for Colgate senior Ali Hanson (Norwalk, Iowa).
