Women’s Basketball Announces Post Season Awards
Seniors honored at post-season banquet

HAMILTON, N.Y. The Colgate women's basketball team held its annual banquet Monday evening at the Seven Oaks Clubhouse. Head coach Beth Spycher Combs and assistant coaches Shelly Respecki, Kim Coon and Mari McClure handed out post-season awards.

Sophomore Leandra Fuller (Harrisburg, Pa.) received the Coach’s Award for Commitment of Excellence.  

Sophomore Emily Braseth (E. Grand Rapids, Mich.) was named the Sparks Award winner. The Sparks Award, named for four-time winner Sarah Parks ’02, is given to the Raider who shows the most hustle throughout the season.

Freshman Megan Ballard (Atlanta, Ga.) garnered Most Valuable Defender honors for her outstanding rookie season.

Senior Ali Hanson (Norwalk, Iowa) received the Rehder Award, named for Nicole Rehder ’95, is also known as the 6th-player award. \

The coaches also honored the team’s seniors; Hanson, Jamie Glenn (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and team manager Danielle Fields with a special plaque for their four-year commitment to the Raider basketball program.

Colgate finished the season with a 9-17 overall record and 4-10 mark in the conference.
