Hamilton, N.Y. - The Colgate University women's basketball team used five players in double-figures and 45 percent shooting from the field to down Army, 88-65, in a Patriot League contest, Wednesday night at Cotterell Court.  With the win, Colgate improves to 10-12 overall and 4-3 in the Patriot League, while Army drops to 8-12, 3-4.

Leandra Fuller (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) led the Raiders with a career-high 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe, while Allison Lipinski (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Garfield Heights) connected on three three-point field goals and matched Fuller's efforts on the free-throw line for 15.  Milaina Lagzdins (Oakville, Ontario/Nelson) scored 12 points and matched her career-high with 15 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season, and Malissa Burke (E. Grand Rapids, Mich./E. Grand Rapids) and Vicky Briscoe (Landover, Md./Riverdale Baptist) chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.  Briscoe added three assists, three rebounds and two steals while Burke had a team-high four assists and four steals.

Army had four players in double-figures and were led by Amy Saal's 15 points.   Katie MacFarlane added 12 points before fouling out of the contest with 11:46 remaining.  Christine Gassman and Halaevalu Helu added 11 points each, while Helu had a team-high 9 rebounds.

Up by only two at 18-16, Colgate used a 18-4 run with 11:16 remaining in the first half to take a 16 point lead 41-25 breaking open the game and took a 46-36 lead into the break.

Army cut the Colgate lead to seven with 17:51 remaining in the second half, but could not get any closer as the Raiders used another run, 18-6, over the next five minutes of action to take a commanding 64-46 lead and never looked back on six points apiece from Fuller and Briscoe.

The Raiders will hit the road to travel to Washington, D.C., Saturday, February 2 to take on new league member American University for a 3:15 tip-off.  In their last meeting, Colgate dropped a heart-breaking 79-77 decision to American in its Patriot League opener.
