Philadelphia, Pa. - La Salle used five players in double-figures to down Colgate 94-66 in a non-conference women's basketball game at the La Salle Invitational Tournament, Saturday at Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia, Pa. La Salle improves to 3-7 while Colgate drops its second straight to fall to 5-7.
La Salle's Kat Foley netted 19 points and Monica Garrido Sanz added 18 to pace the Explorers. Jill Marano chipped in 14 points while Suzanne Keilty and Beth Hudak scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Raiders had three players in double digits and were led by sophomore guard Malissa Burke's (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) 24 points. Allison Lipinski (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Garfield Heights) netted 13 points while Victoria Briscoe (Landover, Md./Riverdale Baptist) chipped in with 12.
Colgate shot poorly from the field connecting on 37 percent of its shots on 25-of-67 shooting while making only 45 percent of its free throws making 10-of-22 attempts. La Salle connected on over 50 percent of its shots shooting 33-of-65 from the floor and made 18-of-19 free throws to shoot 95 percent from the charity stripe for the game.
The Raiders will play Mt. St. Mary's Sunday at 1 p.m. in the consolation game of the La Salle Invitational Tournament. |
