Harvard Outlasts Colgate, 80-67

Hamilton, N.Y. - With the score tied 62-62 with 5:30 remaining in the game, Harvard used a 11-0 run to distance themselves from Colgate and earn an 80-67 win in a non-conference women's basketball match-up Monday at Cotterell Court.
Harvard (11-5 overall, 2-1 Ivy League) outscored Colgate (9-12, 3-3 Patriot League) 18-5 over the last five minutes of the game.
Hana Peljto recorded a double-double scoring a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Crimson while Reka Cserny chipped in with 21. Peljto scored 16 of her 27 points in the second half and six of Harvard's 18 points in the decisive run.
Freshman Allison Lipinski (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Garfield Heights) led the Raiders' with 20 points while sophomore Malissa Burke (E. Grand Rapids, Mich./E. Grand Rapids) added 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Leandra Fuller (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) netted seven points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds for Colgate while Milaina Lagzdins (Oakville, Ontario/Nelson), Vicky Briscoe (Landover, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and Sarah Parks (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) each chipped in with six points apiece for the Raiders.
Colgate returns to Patriot League action Wednesday, January 30 at 5:30 p.m. at Cotterell Court when the Raiders take on the Black Knights of Army.
