Burke Named to San Juan Shootout

Hamilton, N.Y. - Colgate's Malissa Burke (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids), a sophomore guard for the Raider women's basketball team, earned all-tournament team honors for her performance at the San Juan Shootout in San Juan Puerto Rico, November 23-25.
Burke averaged 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three games for Colgate including two double-digit scoring efforts in games versus the University of Central Florida and UPR-Mayaguez.
Burke netted a game-high 21 points for the Raiders in a 90-84 loss to UCF, spurring a 15-point come-back effort for Colgate, and 14 points in Colgate's 84-37 win over UPR-Mayaguez. Burke netted all 14 of her points over UPR-Mayaguez in the first-half, scoring 12 in a decisive 30-15 run in the opening 10 minutes of the first half to seal the win for Colgate.
Burke is the Raiders' second leading scorer, with four double-digit scoring efforts in five games, averaging 14.8 points per game shooting 42% from the field, 38% from three-point range and 70% from the free-throw line, while averaging a team second 4.6 rebounds per game. |
