VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton junior Leah Truncale was one of two players with double-doubles as the Bearcats squeaked out a 65-63 win over Colgate Friday at West Gym in Vestal, N.Y.

Truncale led all players with 25 points and 19 rebounds, while senior Sarah Cartmill made 7-of-8 free throws to earn 13 points and 11 boards.

Raider sophomore Malissa Burke paced Colgate with 15 points, while rookie Leandra Fuller grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.  Milaina Lagzdins fell just one board short of her first career double-double, picking up 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Bearcats took an early lead when junior co-captain Jamie Glenn was called for a foul just 21 seconds into the game.  Binghamton led for most of the first half, until the last 90 seconds when Fuller and Burke drained jumpers to give the Raiders a 38-37 lead after 20 minutes.

Binghamton regained the lead 17 seconds out of the locker room, and led by as many as five points midway through the second half.  Colgate took its last lead of the game at 59-58 with 5:37 remaining, but that was as close as they would come as the Bearcats held on for the win.

Both teams suffered from poor shooting, with Binghamton making just 31.5 percent from the floor, and the Raiders posting a slightly better 39.1.

With two helpers on the night, junior co-captain Ali Hanson moved into sixth place on Colgate's career assists list with 264.  Hanson, who passed Jen Lachance (1992-96), is averaging 2.7 assists per game this season.

The Raiders finish 2001 at the LaSalle Tournament, starting with a 1:00 p.m. game against the host on Saturday, December 29.
