Washington, D.C. - Kaitlin Schuyler and Hollie Steinman netted 16 points each and Katryn Costenbader added a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to down Colgate 71-62 in Patriot League women's basketball action, Saturday at Bender Arena.  Colgate drops to 10-13 overall and 4-4 in the Patriot League while American improves to 9-11, 4-4.  

Senior Sarah Parks netted seven points, grabbed eight rebounds and hustled her way to four steal in the Raider effort en route to becoming only the 14th Colgate women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points.  Leandra Fuller led the Raiders with 16 points and five rebounds while Allison Lipinski and Malissa Burke added 13 and 12 points, respectively.  Milaina Lagzdins grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds along with seven points, and four steals.  

Colgate suffered from poor shooting in the first half connecting on only 22.2 percent of its shots (8-for-36) to trail 44-25 at the half.  The Raiders fought back to within four with 8:32 remaining in the contest, but American held on for the win.  

Colgate returns to action Wednesday, February 6 at 5:30 p.m. when they take on Lehigh at Cotterell Court.
