GONZAGA RALLIES FOR 67-56 WIN OVER COLGATE IN SPOKANE

SPOKANE, WA. - Jessica Malone scored a game-high 25 points and Bernice Stime added a double-double to lead Gonzaga University to a 67-56 win over Colgate Tuesday night at the Spokane Arena.

Colgate (2-8) loses for the sixth straight game, while Gonzaga moves to 5-8.

Stime finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while teammate Triana Allen added 16 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs.  Colgate was led by sophomore Colleen McCaffrey with 12 points and five rebounds, Alison Hanson with 11 points and a career-high 11 assists and Frances Boone with 11 points.

In the first half, the Red Raiders trailed by as many as six points on four occasions before coming back for a 37-35 halftime lead on Hanson's layup with seven seconds left.  Colgate increased its advantage to eight points in the second half leading 45-37 with 16:39 remaining.

Gonzaga rallied with a 14-0 run for a 51-45 lead with 8:41 left.  Colgate cut the deficit to one point, 51-50, on McCaffrey's hook and Hanson's 3-pointer from the corner, before the Bulldogs responded with a 12-point run to capture the first meeting between the two schools.

Gonzaga held a wide margin in rebounding 41-27.  Colgate's Laura Rohrbacher was the Red Raiders' leading rebounder with eight.
