COLGATE FALLS TO DARTMOUTH 64-55, FOURTH LOSS ON THE ROAD

HANOVER, N.H.—Sophomore Katharine Hanks scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Dartmouth get its first win of the season as the Big Green defeated Colgate 64-55.

Katie Skelly, Keri Downs, and Jennifer Johnston shared the scoring, adding ten apiece for Dartmouth.  Senior Frances Boone paced the Red Raiders with 14 points, and tallied a game-high seven steals.  Colleen McCaffrey netted 11 points and pulled down nine boards for Colgate.

Dartmouth improves to 1-4, while Colgate loses their fourth game on the road and drops to 2-4 on the season.

Dartmouth led 30-24 at halftime, but Colgate kept the contest close in the second half.  Frances Boone rallied her team with a three-pointer at 7:44 to bring Colgate within three, 51-48.  The Red Raiders pulled within one point at 5:14 on a lay-up by Malissa Burke.  Burke’s basket made the score 51-50, but Dartmouth pulled away with an 8-0 run.  Colgate was forced to foul in the final minutes, and the Big Green responded with big shooting.
