COLGATE TIES FOR CO-CHAMPIONSHIP AT ECAC MEET

The Colgate Men's Cross Country team tied Princeton University for the co-Championship at the ECAC Cross Country Championships.  The Raiders scored 94 team points to tie Princeton.  UMass finished second in the team scoring with Army and Seton Hall rounding off the top five teams in the University section of the meet.  It is the first time that the Raiders have ever won the meet.

Sophomore Louis Di Nuzzo led the Raiders to their first place finish by placing 3rd overall in 25:48.  Sophomore Xavier de Boissezon came in six seconds later to finish the meet in fourth place overall in 25:51.  Sophomore Travis Brooks also finished in the top ten overall with a time of 26:08.  First-year Robert Van Dine also had a good race for the Raiders coming 29th overall.  Rounding off the five scorers for the Raiders was sophomore Mike Saunders who finished in 26:54.  All of the top five runners for the Raiders ran exceptionally well by all recording personal bests.  Coming in sixth for the Raiders was senior Chris Sweetland in a time of 27:06, and finishing seventh was sophomore Greg Smith in a time of 27:15.

Overall 23 teams competed in the race.  The Raiders also had 3 all-East finishes.  These were earned by Di Nuzzo, Boissezon, and Brooks who were all top ten finishes.  It was a very good day of racing for Colgate who had numerous personal bests to finish off the season.
