Men’s Cross Country
Takes Second Place At Albany Invitational Di Nizzo, Curran place fourth and ninth, respectively for the Raiders FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Julie Greco PHONE: (315) 228-7860 October 19, 2002 ALBANY, N.Y. – The Colgate University men’s cross country team finished second out of 22 teams at the Albany Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Senior Louis Di Nuzzo (Loundonville, N.Y.) and freshman Sean Curran (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) finished 12 seconds apart in finishing in fourth and ninth place, respectively. Di Nuzzo ran the 8k event in 25:52.98 while Curran finished in 26:04.16. Freshman Jake Krong (Amsterdam, N.Y.) finished in 16th place with a time of 26:31.45 while junior Xavier de Boissezon (Geneva, Switz.) took 23rd in a time of 26:47.26. Junior Travis Brooks (Oak Park, Ill.) rounded out the top 50 for the Raiders, placing 31st with a time of 26:59.03. Greg Smith (53rd), Kyle Barrett (55th), Robert VanDine (66 th), Jeremy Wattles (96 th), Nate Rosenthal (120th), Andrew Bell (121st), Jon Barinholtz (128th), Adam Forman (136th) and Patrick McDermott (148th), rounded out the field of Raider runners. Marist College edged out the Raiders for first place finish with 82 points while Colgate placed second with 83. The Raiders are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to participate in the Patriot League Championships on the Army campus.
