Colgate Places Eight on All-Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Team
Six men and two women garner all-league honors for Raiders.

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Eight Raiders were named to the All-Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Team as announced by league officials on Friday.

Senior Tyrone Russell (Ithaca, N.Y.) garnered all-league honors for the fourth straight year after repeating as men’s track athlete of the meet at the Patriot League Indoor Championships last weekend. Russell, who was named track athlete of the week once this season, took first place in the 200- and 400-meter dashes and was a part of Colgate’s second-place 4x400 relay team at the Championships.   

Senior Eric Hiller (Elizabethtown, Pa.) also repeats as an all-league selection for his role in Colgate’s second-place 4x400 relay team at the Patriot League Indoor Championships.   

Junior Louis DiNuzzo (Loudonville, N.Y.), who was named to the All-Patriot League Cross Country Team in the fall, garnered the indoor track honor for the first time due to his first-place finish at the Championships in the 5,000-meter run. DiNuzzo was named the Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Week as well as the ECAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week earlier this season after setting a meet record in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:43.74 at Northeastern’s Husky Invitational.

Junior Waldemar Auguscinski (Passaic, N.J.) took first-place in the shot put at the Patriot League Indoor Championships with an IC4A qualifying mark of 15.61 meters to garner all-league honors for the first time of his career.

Senior Marion Smith (Syracuse, N.Y.) and sophomore Rob VanDine (Binghamton, N.Y.) also took all-league honors for the first time for their performances in Colgate’s second-place 4x400 relay team at the Championships.   

For the women, freshman Sarah Hildebrand (Fairport, N.Y.) led the way with a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:24.68 to take all-league honors.

Sophomore Nolana Quince (Syracuse, N.Y.) clinched second-place at the Championship in the pentathlon with a Colgate record 3,171 points to make the all-Patriot League team for the first time of her career.

The Raiders continue their indoor season as the men participate in the IC4A Championships and the women take part in the ECAC Championships March 7-9.
